Tom Pittman (born Jerry Lee Alten)[1] (March 16, 1932 – October 31, 1958) was an American actor. He died aged 26, described by the Los Angeles Times as "one of Hollywood's most disastrous young actors".[2]
He was born in Phoenix, Arizona. His father was TV-radio actor Frank Alten.[1] He appeared in the films The Proud Rebel (1958) with Alan Ladd, High School Big Shot (1958) and Verboten! (1959); and also in Wagon Train, Cimarron and Zane Grey Theater on television.[1][3]
He died in a gatecrash at Benedict Canyon, California in 1958, after leaving a Halloween party; his body was found nearly three weeks later.[2]
